Cairo – Memphis – Saqqara - Tanis – St. Catherine – Petra - Petra – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Bethany – Amman – Pella – Jerash

This tour presents an extraordinary opportunity to see biblical sites you’ve dreamed about visiting, an amazing, compelling itinerary taking you back through time and space into a world which transcends aeons and cultures.

Day 1 – Cairo arrival:
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative of Aristotle Travel will meet and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day for leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Memphis, Saqqara:
After celebrating Mass, the tour commences starting with a visit to Memphis to see the Alabaster Sphinx and the Statue of Ramses II. Next on the agenda is a visit to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the Mastaba Tomb of Ti, the Tomb of Ptahotep, the Serapeum and the Pyramid of Sekhemkhet. The tour then continues to the great Pyramids of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the mysterious Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh's head.

Day 3 – Cairo:
In the morning we proceed to Old Cairo to visit the Citadel and the Mohamed Ali mosque, before visiting the Coptic (Christian) Museum, the Moallaqa church built in the 4th Century and St. Barbara church built in the 5th Century. Nearby is the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in Egypt. Following is a visit to the Virgin Mary Church in Zeitoun, where she was allegedly appeared on the Church's domes in 1968. We will visit St. Mary's tree in Matariyah and then St. Mark's Church in Abbasseia, the largest Cathedral in Africa, located near the residence of Pope Shenouda III. Next on the itinerary is a visit the Egyptian Archaeological Museum, followed by a visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which offers a wide array of oriental goods, spices and edible delights.

Day 4 – Tanis, St. Catherine:
Depart for Tanis in the morning, enjoying beautiful views of the Nile before arriving at the excavation site. Visit the temple of the East, along with the necropolis housing several intact tombs. The tour then continues towards St. Catherine, stopping to visit some early churches before arrival and check-in at hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - St. Catherine, Petra:
With the aid of an electric torch, depart in the early hours of the morning for Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments and experience the beauty of a sunrise on the desert. After descent, spend the morning visiting the Monastery of St. Catherine. Afterwards you will embark on the journey towards Petra (Jordan) via Nuweibaa and the port of Aqaba. Check-in to hotel upon arrival for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Petra (Jordan):
Enjoy your first day at awe-inspiring Petra, the ancient Jordanian cliff city and architectural treasure. Start with a walk from the gate to El Khazneh (the Treasury) before walking through the Royal Tombs and the Roman Theatre. In the afternoon, the tour continues to the monastery of El Deir, before returning to the hotel for leisure, dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Petra, Mount Nebo, Madaba, Bethany, Amman:
Depart Petra in the morning for Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan and presumed burial place of Moses. It is alleged that it was from this point that Moses first caught a glimpse of the Promised Land. Next on the itinerary is a transfer to Madaba, “The City of Mosaics”, followed by a visit to Bethany, where John the Baptist once lived and practiced. The last stop on the tour today is Amman, capital city of both modern and ancient Jordan.

Day 8 – Amman, Pella, Jerash:
Following a brief city tour, the itinerary continues to Pella, stopping first at the Jabbok River, supposedly the location where Jacob first met Esau, and where he struggled with the angel. The tour then continues with visits to the ancient cities of Pella and Jerash, before returning to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – Amman departure, Cairo:
Upon arrival at Cairo, the tour continues to Wadi El Natrun, where you will enjoy viewing priceless artifacts, Syrian scripts and mystifying icons at the monasteries of Deir El Suryan, Deir Anba Bishoi, Deir Abu Maqar and Deir el Baramus. The tour continues to Alexandria, where you will check in to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – Alexandria, Cairo:
First stop on the itinerary for Alexandria is the Greco Roman Museum, followed by visits to the Amphitheatre, the Royal Palace of Ras El Tin, the Mosque of Sidi Abu Abbas, and the Qaitbay Citadel. Following is a stop at the newly discovered Cleopatra Temple before visiting the new Library of Alexandria, considered to be a masterpiece of architecture. Return to Cairo for dinner and overnight.

Day 11 – Cairo departure:
Transfer to Cairo International Airport for departure flight.
